“What should I be posting on Facebook? I’ve used up all my good ideas.” - Lots of Funeral Professionals
This is one of the biggest questions I get asked about social media. Truth is, humans have a little problem called overthinking, and content creation, like most things, becomes more difficult as a result of it. So we’re gonna make it easy for you right here.
Just remake and post the same stuff.
Wild, right? I know it’s not the most exciting, but you really only need 3-5 “content buckets” to have a super successful content plan.
Here’s what I’m talking about, let’s say you did these three things-
- Go out to a local restaurant, take a photo with your meal, and then share your experience in the copy.
- Film a quick video answering a common question you get as a funeral director.
- Highlight a staff member with a “get to know you” question
If you just did those three things, you would have three awesome posts. But, if you did those three posts EVERY week, you would have an amazing content plan.
“Well, wouldn’t that just get old?”
Well… no. People like repetition. It creates familiarity. In fact, the more you do this stuff, the more people will enjoy it and even look forward to it. Then people start commenting and messaging about these things and then my favorite word ever comes into play- RELATIONSHIPS. Yep, that’s right, in the same way you and your friends tell the same 20 stories to each other, you can build relationships by posting the same type of posts. And yes, spice it up here in there, but keep creating solid reoccurrences that create a foundation.
